Before I had my son, I imagined those peaceful, slow feeds at home—wrapped in a soft robe, sipping tea, completely present in the moment. That was a lovely fantasy.
Reality? I was feeding in between investor calls, pumping in airport lounges, breastfeeding on the backseat of a taxi in Bogotá, balancing motherhood with my work, my travels, and the coffee farm we were running at the same time. There was no “perfect setup.” There was just figuring it out, wherever I was, whatever I was doing.
For mums who are always on the go, breastfeeding isn’t just about making it work—it’s about making it sustainable. It’s about hydrating properly when you barely have time to drink, eating enough when your schedule is packed, and finding moments to reset even when the world around you doesn’t slow down.
I learned very quickly that the right support makes all the difference. Not just the usual “breastfeeding must-haves,” but the things that actually help a mum feel nourished, capable, and in control—no matter where she is.
The Reality of Hydration When You’re Always Moving
Dehydration sneaks up on you fast when you’re breastfeeding, and when you’re always on the move, you don’t notice it until you’re completely drained. I’d get to the end of the day and realise I’d barely had a proper drink—just coffee, a few rushed sips of water, and that was it. It wasn’t enough.
What made the biggest difference for me was switching from just water to something that actively replenished what my body was losing. When you’re breastfeeding, you’re not just thirsty—you’re losing electrolytes, minerals, and nutrients with every feed, and without replacing them, you crash. Hard.
That’s why I created The SABI Breastfeeding Herbata—not just as a lactation tea, but as a way to keep mums genuinely replenished throughout the day. I started making a big batch in the morning, pouring it into an insulated bottle, and sipping it wherever I went. No prep, no effort, just real hydration.
And that was a game changer. My energy felt more stable, my milk supply didn’t dip from dehydration, and I stopped getting those late-afternoon headaches that always seemed to hit when I was running between commitments. It was such a simple switch, but it made everything easier.
Feeding Between Meetings, Flights, and Everything Else
One of the hardest parts about breastfeeding on the go is that it doesn’t stop just because you’re busy. There were moments when I was in the middle of a call, my baby was crying, and I had no choice but to mute myself, latch him on, and keep going. Other times, I was in airports, trying to find a corner to pump, realising that public spaces aren’t built for breastfeeding mums.
You learn to be flexible. You learn to feed anywhere, in any situation, without overthinking it. But you also learn that having the right support makes the whole process so much easier.
For me, it was all about creating little systems that made feeding feel effortless. Wearing button-down tops or feeding-friendly dresses, always having a bottle of Breastfeeding Herbata ready to go, and keeping quick, nourishing snacks on hand so I didn’t run on empty. I used to grab whatever I could find, but that usually meant a sugary snack that gave me a quick boost before completely crashing. When I started choosing protein-rich, slow-release energy foods, everything changed. My body felt stronger, steadier, more supported.
I’d pair a cup of Breastfeeding Herbata with something that actually fuelled me—a handful of nuts, a protein-rich snack bar, or a spoonful of almond butter before running out the door. Nothing complicated, just enough to stop the energy crashes before they started.
The Moments of Stillness That Keep You Grounded
Being a breastfeeding mum on the go means you’re always doing two things at once. Feeding while working. Pumping while answering emails. Holding a baby while running through an airport. It’s easy to feel like you never get a second to yourself.
But the truth is, even in the busiest schedules, there are small pockets of time that can be reclaimed. I started using my feeding moments as built-in pauses—instead of scrolling on my phone, I’d take a breath, sip my tea, let my body actually rest for a second. It wasn’t much, but it reset me enough to keep going.
That’s why I always tell new mums—especially the ones trying to balance work and life—find a ritual that helps you pause, even for five minutes. For me, it was making a cup of The SABI Calming Herbata at night, sitting still for a moment, letting my body actually unwind. When you’re constantly moving, it’s easy to forget how much your nervous system needs a moment to slow down. But those moments? They make all the difference.
Making Breastfeeding Work—Wherever You Are
Breastfeeding as a busy mum isn’t about having the perfect setup. It’s about making it work in real life—finding what helps you feel strong, nourished, and capable no matter where you are.
For me, that meant staying hydrated in a way that actually supported my body, keeping easy, nourishing snacks on hand, and carving out small, intentional moments of rest. It wasn’t about doing everything perfectly—it was about finding the things that made my life easier.
And if you’re looking for a way to support a breastfeeding mum who’s constantly on the go? Give her something that helps her feel cared for, even when she’s too busy to think about herself. A bottle of Breastfeeding Herbata that she can sip all day long. A snack that fuels her instead of draining her. A reminder that she’s doing an incredible job, even when it feels like chaos.
Because at the end of the day, the best gifts aren’t just things—they’re the moments that make her life easier, more supported, more sustainable. And that? Is everything.
